IOP Treatment for OCD in West Jordan, In‑Network with Select Health

OCD Treatment in West Jordan

What comprehensive OCD treatment looks like in IOP

If weekly therapy feels insufficient, IOP offers a focused intensive approach featuring the Freedom Framework, a proven treatment plan that has helped hundreds of people in Utah just like you overcome their OCD and are able to live normal lives. In West Jordan, our OCD IOP typically meets 3–5 days a week for approximately three hours a day. This format provides repeated practice and coaching, which can be effective for patterns that weekly sessions may not fully address. Many clients describe the pace as steady, supportive, and manageable.

Within the Freedom Framework program

You will receive evidence-based interventions:

  • ERP integrated with CBT: Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is the foundation of effective OCD care. It is paired with cognitive strategies to help you confront triggers step by step, pause rituals, and tolerate discomfort.
  • Regulation skills: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed distress tolerance and emotion regulation techniques help you manage anxiety and urgency without resorting to compulsions.
  • Mind-body tools: Breathwork, grounding exercises, and short regulation techniques calm the nervous system, making exposures feel safer and more workable.
  • Resilience Model: This model provides practical tools to respond differently to intrusive thoughts, act in alignment with your values, and reclaim your time with intention.
  • Individualized supports: Group sessions are complemented by individual therapy focused on your specific OCD themes. Family support and psychiatry/medication services are available when clinically appropriate.

Throughout treatment, your care team respects your pace and acknowledges your efforts. We offer consistent, compassionate guidance without rushing or judgment.

Why choose IOP and how it differs from weekly therapy

You may notice rituals becoming more time-consuming, sleep disturbances, increasing avoidance, or stalled progress despite your commitment. IOP offers more than just additional therapy hours; it combines repetition, group practice, daily coaching, and focused exposure work to help recondition automatic patterns.

The group setting provides practical advantages: practicing skills alongside peers, participating in coached exposures with support from others, and receiving validation that reduces isolation and accelerates learning. IOP provides more structure than weekly therapy while preserving your routine. You will never be asked to engage in an exposure to which you have not consented; your preferences, consent, and safety are paramount.

Consider IOP a training period for your mind and body

Intensive enough to foster change and flexible enough to integrate into your life.

What to expect before day one: a simple, supportive onboarding process as starting something new can feel uncertain. We strive to make the logistics clear and the initial steps calming.

  • Initial consultation: We listen, answer your questions, and help you explore whether IOP aligns with your goals. There is no pressure to make an immediate decision.
  • Benefits and coverage verification: We verify your insurance benefits, explain deductibles and copays, and handle pre-authorizations as needed.
  • Clinical assessment (60–90 minutes): Together, we will map your OCD themes, rituals, triggers, support system, and treatment goals. We will discuss safety planning openly and respectfully.
  • Care plan and schedule: You can choose between in-person or virtual IOP and select morning, afternoon, or evening options that fit your responsibilities.
  • Orientation: You will receive practical guidance on what to bring, information about privacy protections, and tips for communicating with your employer or educational institution if you choose.

Many clients report that having this clear roadmap eases the apprehension of starting a new program.

Your first day in the West Jordan OCD IOP

We design the first day to feel welcoming and manageable.

  • Arrival and welcome: You will meet your care team and take a brief tour. Expect a calm, respectful atmosphere with soft lighting and quiet spaces.
  • Baseline assessment: We collect simple, standardized measures to inform your care. These are tools to tailor support, not tests to pass.
  • Skills group: You will learn about OCD mechanisms, such as thought-action fusion and the reassurance cycle, and how ERP interrupts these patterns.
  • Guided, gentle exposures: We begin with low-intensity, agreed-upon exercises, providing coaching and encouragement to help you navigate discomfort safely.
  • Debrief and next steps: You will leave with a short plan for practice between sessions and clear guidance for managing challenging moments at home.

The weekly rhythm: structure that respects your life

Most clients attend 3–5 days a week for approximately three hours each day, typically for 12 weeks. Individual and family sessions are integrated into the program to ensure cohesive care.

Core elements you will encounter regularly include:

  • ERP Lab: Stepwise exposures with real-time coaching, accountability, and encouragement.
  • Cognitive work: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to identify, question, and reset thought patterns that perpetuate rituals.
  • DBT skills and mindfulness: Brief practices, such as paced breathing, sensory grounding, and gentle movement, to help regulate your nervous system between exposures.

If you are currently seeing an outpatient therapist, we will collaborate with them. Many clients transition back to weekly therapy with enhanced skills, clearer plans, and renewed confidence.

Family and support involvement

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) can inadvertently involve loved ones in reassurance-seeking or accommodation patterns. When family members learn different ways to respond, the influence of rituals can diminish.

We offer family sessions for education, coaching, boundary practice, and safety planning, as needed and with your consent. If you do not have available family support, we can assist in identifying a support person or coach who can uphold your treatment plan and encourage your progress. We involve only the individuals you designate, always at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

What progress can look like (and how we measure it)

Progress typically manifests as numerous small, meaningful shifts that accumulate over time.

  • Early indicators: Rituals require less time, you seek reassurance less frequently, and your tolerance for uncertainty gradually increases.
  • Mid-program milestones: You engage in more successful exposures, experience fewer avoidance behaviors, and have more energy available for work, school, and family.
  • Graduation benchmarks: Lower self-reported distress scores, improved daily functioning, and confidence in using skills independently.

We track progress using standardized measures alongside your personal goals, allowing you to visualize your growth and feel its impact in your daily life.

Insurance, costs, and practical details

Financial concerns can add stress. We aim for transparency from the outset.

We are in-network with most major insurance providers, including Select Health, and most private insurance companies. We manage benefit verification, prior authorizations, and session documentation to alleviate these burdens for you. You will receive a clear estimate before committing to treatment. We will explain deductibles, copays, any coverage limits, and how attendance may affect your plan. If necessary, we can discuss payment options.

To verify your insurance, please call us. A member of our team will be happy to assist you.

Safety, crisis planning, and level-of-care adjustments

Your safety and dignity are central to our work.

  • Personalized safety plan: We will collaboratively create a coping and contact plan with clear steps for obtaining support if distress intensifies.
  • Urgent support: If you are experiencing immediate risk, please call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or 911, or go to the nearest emergency department.

Discussing safety does not increase risk; it builds trust and strengthens care.
